A World Series Challenge With A Gay Twist
Although I don't really want to add to the hysteria about baseball, my old chorus from Kansas City has issued a challenge to the San Francisco Gay Mens Chorus:
The artistic director of Heartland Men's Chorus challenges the artistic director of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus to a friendly World Series wager.
Will Tim accept?
Raise the stakes?
And who will win the series?
**UPDATE:
San Francisco has upped the ante with their own challenge.
Okay, gentleman. We'll play ball with you!
We accept SFGMC’s latest challenge, and in the extremely unlikely event that the Giants win the series, HMC will:
- Send Russell Stover chocolates to the members of SFGMC. (Because victory is sweet.)
- Send $100 gift certificate for Jack Stack Kansas City barbecue (Because you just might need some comfort food.)
- Send a $200 Southwest Airlines Voucher towards a round trip from SF to KC, a night at Hotel Phillips, and two 2 HMC concert tickets to be used as SFGMC would like. (You should come see one of our concerts…it might inspire you!)
- Serenade SFGMC with a videotaped rendition of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.” (We’re not buying that sheet music just yet.)
BONUS “CLEAN SWEEP" BET
- Should the Giants do the unthinkable and sweep the series in seven games, cabaret and jazz legend Marilyn Maye will sing the outgoing message on Tim Seelig’s voicemail. (She’s performed across the globe but, like all people of taste and refinement, she calls Kansas City home.)
