Why Bin Ladens Death is No Victory For the US

Why this is nothing but a PR move....and a pathetic one at that.....can be explained in this famous quote:
"The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of   chain reaction of evil -- hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars --must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation." - Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Like I said on my facebook wall: this whole thing makes ya think: Iraq Coalition Military Fatalities: 4770. Afghanistan Coalition Military Fatalities: 2441. So....let's do the simple math. They killed 3,000 on 9/11. And in response....we invaded Iraq which had nothing to do with 9/11, and then invaded Afghanistan and 10 years later there are more US deaths caused by war than 9/11. Totally illogical. War is not the answer. It never was

ya ya...blah blah....Almost 10 years after terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 killed 3,000 people, the man behind the attacks was killed, President Obama will announce Sunday night, according to multiple reports.

  1. I agree, Bill. I'm "glad" on some level that bin Laden paid for what he instigated. But does killing him really make Americans -- or anyone -- safer? Hard to tell.
