President Biden listened and finally ended offensive military support in Yemen

 William:

BREAKING: President Biden listened and finally ended offensive military support in Yemen. [1]

This victory would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of progressive leaders, Yemeni advocates, and activists like you across the country and from around the world.

That work exposed the horrors of the war in Yemen and the US’s direct complicity in it. The consistent push to change it has worked. Today we’re so grateful to everyone who showed up, who spoke out against the injustice and who was part of this moment.

Thank you for being one of those people. ]

Together throughout this campaign we took. We collected 329,044 petition signatures, wrote 203,075 letters, and made 5,282 calls to Congress demanding an end to U.S. support for war in Yemen. We worked tirelessly on the Hill, and alongside partners and activists to put human lives over arms industry profits and we’re now seeing our efforts culminate today with President Biden’s announcement.

There is still a long journey ahead. We need to make sure the U.S. fully ends any military support for the war, finally commits to inclusive diplomacy and reparations to support Yemen’s recovery, and is held accountable for the egregious role we played in exacerbating the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.

William, the actions you took with us helped us make history today. It's now our time to ramp up momentum as we begin a new chapter of seeking peace and accountability. We’ll start that work tomorrow and for today, we wanted to take a moment and recognize what we’ve achieved together so far.

Thank you for working for peace,

Kate, Stephen, Sara, Erica, Amy, Faith, Abbey, and the Win Without War team.
